Cahills Crossing Viewing Area Upgrade
This exciting project was designed to improve the crocodile viewing experience at Cahills Crossing in Kakadu National Park, by creating larger, more accessible, and environmentally integrated viewing areas.
Visitor safety was enhanced with installation of architectural handrail and timber decking that was customed designed to be installed around the existing vegetation at the site. The existing rock revetment was expanded to facilitate the new larger viewing platform. A smaller platform was also installed slightly downstream.
Other project components included a new footbridge connecting the parking lot, establishment of clearer and safer pedestrian routes, and customised timber seating.
